Tips for Calming Anxiety in Stressful Situations

Hi! I’m new to this app and don’t know specifically what I’m trying to ask, but I just wanna see if there are any things you guys do to calm yourself down if you’re about to be in a scenario where your anxiety will 100% kick in?

Usually I listen to music and try drawing random things helps distract me from the anxiety

phone apps also help a lot. i usually play minesweeper, xblocks, and word searches.

my grandma listens to loud music every night which is my #1 trigger for a panic attack or meltdown. i usually use sound proof headphones and a loud fan to drown it out but if i don’t have access to either i hum to myself, use fidget toys, call a friend, leave the house, or try breathing exercises if i can. :)

I usually listen to music or submerge myself into a game on my phone, one game I've been using for years is called Two Dots. it's really fun and it helps me distract myself. I also have music playlist put together of just my favorite happy songs that I can listen to and get lost in. Getting "lost in" something usually helps me and I end up calming down without even realizing it because my brain waa focused on something other than the thing causing me anxiety. So for me its music and games.

I just started using an app called Insight Timer, and I’ve been doing guided meditations and not only are they calming, but significant mood increase by the end. YouTube also has guided meditations. And I was the biggest skeptic lol
