Dealing with Intense Menstrual Cramps

How do you deal with intense cramps? The pain from the cramps is killing me. I try to take Tylenol and not miss any doses. I’ve tried heating pad but it doesn’t always help. This pain breaks the pain scale it’s that bad. During my last cycle it was only severe for a day but this cycle is much worse. Is there anything else that you have tried that might work? Is this an issue I should talk to my doctor about? I’m just not sure and I really don’t have anyone to talk about this with me.

I use a TENS machine to help with cramps. It's worth talking to your doctor about it if you can especially if it's getting worse.

I found that birth control helps. Obviously, this will depend on your body, but discuss starting birth control with your doctor. If your doctor has never prescribed you birth control before, they will ask some routine questions about your cycle and whether or not you have had blood clotting issues, etc.. Your doctor can work out what's the best option and whether or not they think birth control can help you. I found that it alleviated the pain, and I am much more conformable. It can also have other benefits such as potentially helping with fertility issues and overall many side effects of PCOS such as excessive hair growth.
