Do any of you guys experience a kind of burning pain through your whole body when overstimulated? Like numb/tv static but hurts/burns? I can’t find much of anything talking about it or how to deal with it. My sensory hypersensitivity has progressed to the point that my body has developed dissociative symptoms to cope and I’m kinda between not feeling much of anything to excruciating pain. I explained to a specialist and they said that I’m already doing everything I can and I need to get on pain meds for it. I’ve been referred to neural pain management places but they’re not responding to schedule. Just wanted to know if anyone related or has any tips

I just starting having this on top of my usual lights-too-bright-everything-too-loud, especially in my hands and feet. I unfortunately have no idea what to do about it beside the usual sensory integration stuff but I do feel less lonely hearing it’s happening to someone else. Hope we all find our way back to Not Burning soon…
Yes it usually means im overstimulating myself to the point of near burn out though and I have to avoid the sensory issues that cause it.

One person shared that they deal with similar issues and their therapist suggested practicing mindfulness, which has helped them manage their stress reactivity. Another person mentioned that they find overriding pain stimuli with other sensations helpful, such as using a heating pad, weighted blanket, or vibrating massage mat to distract their nerves from transmitting pain signals. However, some people also reported that they have had to resort to pain management medications like Cymbalta, Gabapentin, and lidocaine cream for relief.
