Dentist to rule out other dental issues. I have had great luck with over the counter bite guards that you self fit. Much cheaper. Also have had good luck with physical therapy. Stretching etc. Feel better. It's painful and I'm so sorry. ❤️😥

You can go to a tmj doctor because odds are you also will get TMJ. By going to a TMJ doctor when they order a splint, “mouth guard/hard” it’s considered DME durable medical equipment and covered by insurance. When you get a mouth guard from a dentist it’s not the same as a splint. I fractured I think 26 teeth and wore them to the dentin during the acute phase of Covid. My splint broke which is pretty impressive since it’s made to with stain high PSI … I got alll new crowns in my mouth. I went to Mexico. You want to over treat bruxism if you can to stop it from progressing. Post Covid I have osteoarthritis in one tmj joint and arthritis in the other. The splint is key to prevent the complications.
