Breast Biopsy Pain: Lidocaine Didn't Work for Me

Hi there! I'm hoping someone understands my pain (literally). I recently received a mammogram, breast biopsy, and an attempted fine needle aspiration. I'm 32 and have had back to back breast abscess. The docs were concerned and decided on the above procedures. I've often heard that fine needle aspirations and biopsies weren't as painful due to the local anesthesia lidocaine. However, lidocaine didn't work for me. I felt pressure, the needle, & a weird burning pain. The doc said b/c my area was so inflamed, the lidocaine did not worked. I was lucky to get enough tissue samples. On top of this, the doc wasn't able to pull any fluid. Has anyone else dealt w/ this issue before? I for sure thought the lidocaine would work.
