Question for Those With BPD: Does BPD Really Cause Abuse?

Question for those with BPD: So I had, past tense, a friend with bpd. They were very abusive and used everyone. They blamed their bpd saying it wasn't their fault and that they just didn't want to be abandoned. I don't know much about bpd.. so- I'm not certain if that was a valid reasoning? Does bpd really cause that in some people?

I have BPD. It's a living nightmare inside our heads. We're fighting a war against two people inside of us at all times. It's incredibility difficult for us to have any relationship, whether romantic, platonic, or familial. It's not something we do intentionally, and we normally experience crippling guilt after our emotions finally begin to regulate again and we realize what happened.
