those who are or were on medication for bpd...whats your experience? awhile ago my therapist threw out the idea of being put on medication because dbt wasnt helping me much on its own. i havent been making progress in therapy honestly so im considering meds. i have no clue if it is neurological at this point, i try my best to apply dbt but the irritability emptiness and emotional dysregulation gets the best of me u_u i am in need of advice

I don't know exactly what medications would help you but if you can, tell them you want to see a psychiatrist but if they aren't helping you then I would suggest looking to get help somewhere else if possible

I've literally tried almost every medication out there and it hasn't helped to the degree I want it to. I'm supposed to be taking Zoloft, after being prescribed it a month ago but I haven't taken but three or so pills out of the bottle. I don't want to be drugged up just to appear normal.

@deathlost if i can ask what medications did you try and how did it make you feel?

@zerochan There's too many to name. But off the top of my head, Seroquel, which sedated me pretty hard, Abilify, which caused many toxic symptoms like dizziness and fainting, Prozac, Latuda, that one worked, i just hated the weight gain on it, Lithium I had nightmares all the time on it, I tried all the mood stabilizers and they did nothing for me.

I've been on several antidepressants and that's it . Doctor wants me to talk to someone in order to get out on mood stabslizers but nothing works honestly . I wish I could help but I'm in the same boat it's hard

@zerochan I felt the exact same or even worse . Like some of them did nothing but ones like fluoxetine and mirtazapine I felt like 10x worse mentally . Cabt win I swear
