Yeah I'm taking medicine it's helped me sort through the mess in my head at least a little and I haven't been manic for a while

I take an SSRI, Paxil, in combination with an antipsychotic, Rexulti. It's honestly changed my life. I definitely feel it when I miss a couple days.

Rexulti was originally for schizophrenia and used in conjunction with antidepressants for stubborn depression, but I was in a clinical trial where I took it for BPD. It really works for me.

I'm not on anything and was told you can't alleviate any severe symptoms with medications. I heard DBT is helpful but I haven't looked into that either. I don't know much as I was recently diagnosed.

I have BPD and Bipolar. I take Latuda (antipsychotic), Gabapentin (mood stabilizer), and Lithium (mood stabilizer). It helps more with my bipolar and my BPD but that doesn’t mean medicine won’t work for your BPD, mines just stubborn.

There aren’t medications for having a personality disorder per say, but you can take medications to buffer certain symptoms that cause you a lot of distress while you are learning skills to improve your behaviors in therapy. My depression and suicidal thoughts are bad. I take Effexor and it’s really improved my depressed and anxious experience. It made me feel better enough to be more engaging in learning to be “better” if that makes sense? I think gabapentin is a good anxiety medication that you can take when ever you feel easily agitated or anxious. I think anxiety and the physical body feeling uneasy is a big factor to why those of us with bpd are quick to react. Anxiety buffering meds might help with calming your nervous system
