This is true!!!!!! I told 2 therapists that I thought I had BPD or Bipolar and they LITERALLY TOLD ME “you’re to self aware to have BPD” and when I went to get urgent help (bc I was having lots of suicidal thoughts) I got turned away because it wasn’t “serious” enough and they said to call them “if I make a plane” like WHAT???? Ur supposed to stop me from making a plan in the first place???? I even told them I was SH and they literally didn’t take me seriously at all. My MD was my savior in this. I was desperate for help and I wanted to see a psychiatrist and try medication but no one took me seriously. I gave up and went to my MD and I was lucky that she took my depression seriously. It was still about a year or so until my BPD got taken seriously and it’s only because it literally got worse and my episodes got really intense and I started SH more and more. You gotta keep searching for someone who will take you seriously. You’re not crazy and don’t let a professional tell you that you don’t experience the things you experience. They’re not you. Just keep searching and you will find someone. There are compassionate people out there that will take you seriously you just gotta look!!💕💕good luck friend
