I'm about to start a new job. I always start new jobs because after training I always have a total breakdown. I really hope I don't do it again. My savings is gone and if I don't keep this job idk what will happen.

o do the same thing you're taking about go through training get everyone even myself thinking hey this is going to be great then real day starts and I meltdown it's insane went through 6 caregiver jobs since March. But I'm also grieving the loss of my sister it's complicated. Everything piled on me and you can't even trust yourself to do the right thing how can you trust other people?

Yeah that’s my usual too, today I had an episode triggered right when I started my shift so it’s been really hard. Makes me realize how much effort I put in to not feel anything, and I’m so pissed when it catches up with me

I feel this all the time! I usually do my DBT skills. One that I really like and doesn’t take long and is really quick is the ice dive!! Basically you get a bowl and fill it up with cold water and ice. Then you stick you head in the water for 30 seconds and it immediately calms you down if your having a BPD episode. But I get what your saying it’s so hard to stay present. I would try mindfulness too if that helps any or you know what that is. Also if you don’t have time to do the ice dive just get ice and put it on your forearms that helps as well.

I love that one! It’s so hard to remember to use my skills in the middle of an episode- I need to get better at using them when I first feel it coming on instead of waiting until I’m in the thick of it.
