Seeking advice on Botox for severe jaw pain due to EDS

I have severe jaw pain and spastic muscles due to my EDS. My doctors are recommending Botox after failing all steroid and local anesthetic injections. I'm worried Botox won't work or will have bad side effects. Does anyone have experience with Botox in their jaw and neck? Does the Botox help with pain? I'm also concerned that I'm only 20 and Botox isn't able to be a long term solution. Any advice is appreciated.

Hey, I suffered from severe jaw and headaches, because of my EDS. I got botox treatment which really relieved the pain, but I was told I should have another injection in 3 months, so I don’t know what to do. My insurance doesn’t pay for this treatment, so I can’t really afford many more injections. It’s been 2 months since the botox treatment, and the pain isn’t as severe as it used to be, so I guess I’ll just wait for now. Does your insurance pay for this treatment?
