bdd is far more than just something that someone is insecure about, but rather an obsession of a flaw(real or imagined) that they become fixated on. It can be their nose, a birthmark, scar, legs, weight, hair, anything. They believe what they hear/feel in their mind despite not wanting to believe it. Their imperfections are screaming at them like a fly stuck in your ear or nose, buzzing right in there all day and night..that irritating, painful nonstop noise stuck in there.. it's much more than being over aware of what is wrong with their appearance; it is the emotions and thoughts towards how they feel is wrong with their appearance as well.
