100% without bipolar. It has done nothing good for me and I'd rather not have to take medication to function

Hi all, New to alike here. I certainly would choose to live without bipolar, as meds have almost killed me. I'm certainly not the person I used to be because of the meds, kind of a boring guy really but better boring than manic.

With Bipolar 10000%. I absolutely disagree with the naive mindset that “bipolar is a gift”. False. Until we start talking about bipolar as the debilitating ILLNESS that it is there will continue to be stigma.

Living with the right medication. Dont get me wrong, bipolar has been hell for me and the fact I got it purely because my mother was a pregnant smoker fuels me with lots of anger and grief on the topic. But at the end of the day, its a chronic illness just like my POTS and all I want for that is optimal treatment. Having or not having the illnesses doesnt matter much for me in the end. I dont think about what my life would be like without an illness because the only times I have was when other people treated me poorly due to their own perceptions and issues. I just want to exist without the over abundance of barriers in the way of being healthy with an illness. That said, I did not have this perception until I found my right medication and was able to conceptualize my problems better, so I understand those who wish they were never ill and respect it.
