I was diagnosed in 2013. I’ve had depression all my life so I believe I’ve been bipolar since I was a kid. Being mentally sucks

I was diagnosed when I was 19, 25 yrs ago! I feel like a veteran or something. I knew I had bipolar disorder when I was 16 and did a quiz in a pamphlet. I showed my med provider but he wouldn't diagnose an adolescent with BD. Got a new med provider after being hospitalized @ 18, then got the right diagnosis. 6 hospitalizations, many jobs and one kid later I'm the most stable I've ever been. There is hope.

I was officially diagnosed in 2017 but it's been years of manic episodes before that. My family just thought I was a moody teenage at the time.

🙌 I feel the same way! I was diagnosed last month after a panic attack where I couldn’t breathe.

Personally I was officially diagnosed almost a year ago. But this came after YEARS of being misdiagnosed with depression. Honestly it’s the best news about my health I’ve ever received , because finally I’m on treatment that works!
