I was recently diagnosed with bipolar and I’ve been having a lot of anxiety that it’s a misdiagnosis and that it’s actually something else. Does anyone deal with this and if so how?

I deal with my diagnosis like this ... They are a label to help identify copeing mechanisms. That is all you should treat them as. If you get to in your head about it... at least for me... then you become more toxic for others to be around because they'll be on eggshells bc you might just always be on edge bc you think there's no way out of one of the world's shitiests diagnosis. Guess what buddy there isn't a way out, just a way to deal with it 🤣. so there is reason to panic. But don't get wrapped up in that. The best way to not to panic are those copeing mechanisms. So why not just use the label of your diagnosis only as a means to identify these mechanisms in the first place... Skip over the panic by just incorporating those skills in your daily life before the existential panic hits. Does this make sense to anyone?

I had a lot of anxiety about the possibility of being bipolar when my mom told me she thought i was bipolar. But finally i accepted the possibility and saw someone about it and sure enough... It actually was kind of a relief because then i had an answer for what was going on with me and could go forward with the proper treatment.
