What drug had helped you guys the most with fibro? I have a phone appointment with my doctor in a few days and I was going to request something beyond the muscle relaxer I'm on now. I've been seeing Lyrica and Cymbalta and a couple others. Thoughts?

I use CBD . . . Yes for some people it does nothing and it also can heavly weaver from the different forms you consume but the medications they kept trying to feed me either seemed pointless, made my fibro worse or barely took the edge out of the discomfort, or made a difference condition of mine flare up. CBD actually reduced my pain where 9 other medications couldn't. My stomach is WAY less F**kd now.
I know a lot of people recommending Cymbalta and you say you've been talking it but for me this medication was the biggest downfall of my medical history. This medication did not only nothing for my physical ailments but destroyed my mental state at the time taking it making a downward spiral in physical progression

Lyrica has been the best for me. You can also ask for NSAIDs that are prescription rather than just over the counter stuff. Tylenol arthritis is the best otc med I've found

Gabapentin and diclofenac really helped me for a while, but ended up causing some GI issues. I’m on imipramine and Carisoprodol (a muscle relaxant) now and they’re working pretty well

I'm on Cymbalta for depression but my psych said it would also help with fibro idk if I can 100% agree cause I can't really feel a difference since I haven't had some severe flare-ups recently but I'd say try it

Thanks everyone
gabapentin (neurontin) has been decently helpful for me? i'm at a medium dose now and i seem to be able to tolerate walking way more than i used to, and sometimes my pain points don't hurt or hurt less. but i think i've recently been seeing a rare side effect of it and will have to stop it when i see my doctor next month. it's very common for fibro and other nerve pain, so it's absolutely worth a shot to try it. in general, other than when i was working retail, my pain is of less concern than my other symptoms, so you may have a different experience to mine. i also take cyclobenzaprine, but only as a sleep aid (though i am considering trying it daily since muscle tension and spasms are one of my more irritating symptoms). i'm hoping that if i stop gabapentin, i'll be able to try cymbalta, since the antidepressant effect of gabapentin has been one of the better parts of taking it.

@anemone thank you. I've taken Cymbalta it worked fine I can't remember why I came off of it.
@anemone Hi anemone, What was the este side effect you notice from gabapentin?
@Andrer i think i have thrombocytopenia, low platelet count. it's not life threatening now by any means but its still enough that i'm getting petechiae, and i have felt more fatigued lately, so i think it may be related. i couldn't find many case studies that said it was related and in the ones i did the dose was much higher and the patient generally had other risk factors, but that's my best guess for where the petechiae are coming from...
Gabipentin helped me but I hear bad things.
I took gabapentin at a very high dose for about 8 years, up until recently. It wasn't helping with my nerve pain anymore, so my doctor switched me to Lyrica. It has seemed to help some with pain, and neuropathy, but not massively. Overall I'd recommend it.
Tramadol is also amazing. Very good pain killer
Gabapentin at a medium to high dose has helped me a lot
Gabapentin has been amazing, tiazidine is a muscle relaxer which has helped a lot and helps me sleep well
Suloxitine (Cymbalta) was a game changer. Also, Tramadol ER. I have been able to keep working thanks to those meds and determination!
@Denali What is Tramadol?
@SavageSav a pain medicine. But, not a knock out one. I can work and use it. I use Tramadol ER. Changed my life!
