Which medications work the best for your depression? I’ve tried all the major ones and I’m on a combo of ones now, but it feels like they’re not working. I’m wondering if there’s one out there I haven’t tried.

I cannot STAND SSRIs, they really don't work for me and I have bad side effects with them. I take an antipsychotic (risperdal) ((which also helps with dissociation)) and a mood stabilizer (lamictal)

I take fluoxetine at a specific dose. I was on Lexapro for a while but I eventually reached the highest dose and needed more, but my provider suggested celexa (fluoxetine) and it’s the best thing ever for me.

The best ones that worked for me have been the non-SSRIS (antipsychotics and MAOIs). Unfortunately all of those had horrendous side effects so I am not on any of them 😥

The only one that I've tried that's helped for me is citalopram

For me I've had the best success and least side effects with wellbutrin.

      Have you tried Cymbalta/Duloxentine?

Wellbutrin helped me for a bit, but after a while something inside my brain told me to stop taking it. So i did. And I feel better on my other meds without the wellbutrin. Im supposed to start Celexa for my PTSD , which i read is also used as an antidepressant, so I'm hoping it will help more than the wellbutrin. That being said, don't do what I did. I don't recommend stopping meds without telling your doctor.

Prozac was the best fit for me. I take the offbrand but it took about 4 or 5 different meds before getting to this one

SSRIs never worked well for me. For a long time, i was on Wellbutrin. That was the most helpful antidepressant i’ve been on.

Venlafaxine is working for me. I tried one before it and had horrendous side effects. This one just makes me a little tired and sad if I forget to take it. I also find myself a bit emotional and have a headache when I miss one. Otherwise, very little negative side effects and it helps me stay more positive. I highly suggest it, but as you probably already know, each medication works differently for each person. I hope you’re able to find one that helps you
