I was recently diagnosed with MM, and as a teacher who is passionate about my job, I'm eager to know if anyone has been able to continue working while undergoing treatment. Balancing my profession with my health is important to me, and I'd appreciate hearing about others' experiences in managing this

As others have written, because the treatments cause you to be susceptible to infections, I would probably stay away from the school, and try to find a way to continue working remotely, even if it is part-time if you're financially capable of doing so...

I worked. I had chemo and a tandem transplant in 2017. I’m a consultant and I travel. My docs would not let me travel for 6 months but could after that with an N95. I was tired and had to gain back strength but it helped me to keep as much of my routine as possible.

I retired a few years ago and took up my hobby. Art. Had to give that up because of macular degeneration. But all ways make sure you have a few tasks to do, daily.

don't do it. your immune system will be significantly weakened, making you more susceptible to infections. It's crucial to prioritize your health during this time.

I worked with kids and had to leave, it was not a good place to work while undergoing treatment

One person shared their experience of managing work and treatment for Multiple Myeloma by working from home, which allowed them to fit work around their doctor's appointments. Another individual who used to teach kindergarten mentioned considering going back to teaching after their diagnosis but was unsure due to potential symptoms. They also mentioned the possibility of teaching online. However, it's important to note that everyone's experience with MM is different, and what works for one person may not work for another.
