Do You Suffer From Awful Period Symptoms?

Ladies!! Do you have really awful symptoms the week before your period hits!? Happens every time for the past 2 years and I’m not sure if the pill helps or hurts - what works for you, does birth control help, have you gotten hormone tests, what aleviates your symtpoms and what are your symptoms? I get really bloated to the point where it feels like my gut shuts down / seizes up because it’s too puffy / inflammed and so I get constipated and then am in pain in multiple ways. The gas is UNcontrollable too. Anyone relate?

YES! I get all of that so bad it’s terrible! I get terribly constipated and so nauseous! Zofran is a huge help when I get terribly nauseous! I was on Birth Control but it made my nausea, pain, and IBS episodes 10x worse :( essential oils work wonders for me and warm baths with lavender and peppermint!

yessss, essential oils, nausea medication (I do promethazine although I like Zofran a lot more) and ibuprofen which help my stomach cramps more than back pain

i have really bad nausea/bloating/pain for the day or two before my period. i used to take the pill, and i stopped for unrelated reasons (it was giving me migraines) and switched to a hormonal IUD. for me it’s not too different from my usual symptoms so i usually just take my regular medications, and i also take certain meds as needed so i tend to take more of those as well. i also find that certain supplements help me as well if you are interested in those!
