Avoiding Medications for Kidney Disease

Hi!! I too have CKD. Diet is the most important thing you can do for yourself. Choose foods that are LOW in sodium, potassium, sugar (that's a major one for inflammation), and calcium. There are cook books especially for people with CKD. You don't want to have too much protein. I have just overhauled my diet again trying to cut out dairy/milk solids. I was pretty surprised. My lowest GFR was 28. And now it's 43. I haven't had a GFR that high in over 10 years. Also, you'll want to be on a bit of a fluid restriction. The recommended is no more than 2 liters/day.
