Ground your senses to the present, become aware of at least your breath.

I stim. If you don't have a favorite stim, I suggest finding a list of common autistic stims and trying some out! We tend to be trained out of our natural stims at an early age, and I think it's important to rediscover and use them! The best ones for me in this situation are ones that involve rocking. It's kind of ironic, in my head, society tells me that rocking = mental instability, so I avoided it for a long time because I thought it would make things worse. But it helps a lot. If you are hyperventilating, breathing into a bag or wearing a tight fitting mask helps. I will also sometimes say soothing things to myself out loud. Stuff like "I am safe" and "it will be ok". My partner knows to tell me "breathe out" which is our shorthand for "just try to make your out breaths longer than your in breaths" - a way to calm your nervous system. Finally, I will make myself a packet of frozen vegetables to eat. Especially dark greens. Often helps.

I stim quit a lot it’s like a release of energy. I notice I wiggle my fingers when I’m anxious and I rub my hands and feet together when I’m happy or excited but I’ll try the other things you suggested

Alright, I've been on a roll tn on these post lol, *I've just joined tn. So, not to be a religious dude because I'm not, just spiritual. Just in your mind or wherever it seems best to start off with "god" then give info on the exact thing you're going through. Ask for help at the end, don't even worry about praying hands, just ask in the mind or tall outloud and if it does nothing else it'll take your mind off the thing and let you rant. It's helped me 😥💕
