What should i do to see about getting tested fir autism? I have done a ton of research and the more i look up the more it makes sense. I am hoping to get tested but idk how i can go about it as i have a tendency to mask synptoms infront of doctors as they give me a lot of anxiety and I've been ignored by them a lot.

@RissTheTiger that is exactly why I am wanting to get diagnosed.

I am having a similar thought at the moment and I'm leaning towards yes. With a diagnosis I can get aids/support plans in school/uni and work and overall feel more understood. But it's to each their own - it's whatever you are comfortable with!

Your primary care doctor should be able to give you a referral šŸ™‚

Near me, there was only 1 option for places that diagnoses adults w autism. My appointment is coming up in 3 weeks Iā€™ll lyk how it goes

You ask your doctor to refer you to the correct person for diagnosis. How they do it depends on your age and where you live. I didn't fill out anything!

I honestly got diagnosed a different way but for anxiety I had to take a rest maybe it's the same

I got diagnosed, they have you fill out a booklet about symptoms that you have.

To get tested for autism, you can start by talking to your therapist or primary care physician about your concerns and symptoms. They may refer you to a specialist or a psychologist for further evaluation. If you're worried about masking symptoms in front of doctors, try to be open and honest about your anxiety and the fact that you might unintentionally mask your symptoms during appointments. This will help them better understand your situation and provide appropriate guidance.
