How does on go about getting tested for Autism as an adult? Both my siblings got tested and diagnosed as kids and I’ve always suspected that maybe I had it as well, just with my symptoms and such. I’m just not really sure how to start the process.

I'm currently in the process of getting a neuro psych eval to see if I have autism. I've only gone to 1 out of the 4 appointments tho. The first one was sorta like a therapy intake session where I just told them about all my habits, symptoms, and just over all about myself. Next 2 sessions are the actual testing session then I will get my results on the last session

Self diagnosis is valid. Do your research, take your tests, talk to your doctors, therapists, parents, anyone who will support you.

@Lin92 Ok no I didn't! Sorry for the confusion! A link to the self-diagnosed resource is on the UW link I sent. I'm so sorry 😅

You can actually take the AQ 10, the AQ 50, the Empathy Quotient and all the other tests online. Let me grab the link for you. If you present them with high scores to a psychiatrist or a neuropsychiatrist or even a neurologist you can get yourself a diagnosis or further evaluation

I was diagnosed with very slight autism not too long ago, and I'm only 20. I think that I took some sort of test, but I can't remember. But here are my signs of autism: difficulty learning, difficulty concentrating, sensitive to loud noises & some bright lights, not being able to lie is one of the strange symptoms that I've looked up. Not being able to sit still for a long time, fixated on one activity/thing. This is a come and go problem for me. It's not always constant. Difficulty understanding ones feelings, not being able to read a person's expressions. Getting anxious when it comes to socializing. Difficulty making friends (this is a huge issue for me), accidentally letting your mouth speak before you think. Unable to understand sarcasm, even when it's playful.
