i am self diagnosed myself! nothing to be ashamed of if youve genuinely been doing the research and what not, what I've found best to help is exactly along what the other commentor says, if certain materials or smells seem to make you feel happy or calm get a small thing with it, get fidgets you like to help overstimulation, whatever helps you, its your mind after all, and your body. taking online tests wont confirm anything of course but can help as a small way to help see if you might, taking a look at dsm-5 listed symptoms, and if you arent great with website research, it may not sound like the best but theres alot of little videos on stuff like tiktok and youtube where people will talk about symptoms and experiences in smaller amounts at a time, which is what helped me find out

I’m in pretty much the same boat. I’m about 90% sure I have ASD but getting diagnosed isn’t feasible for me right now. I’ve been treating myself as if I have my diagnosis, though. Trying to recognize the areas where I struggle and giving myself the accommodations and grace I need. Weighed blankets, fidgets, headphones, etc. the way I see it, diagnosis or not, if it helps if helps so why not? Obviously this doesn’t help with things like treatments and external accommodations, but at least it’s a place to start. If you don’t mind me asking, what are your barriers to getting diagnosed?
