What Does Getting Diagnosed for Autism Look Like?

I don't remember since I got diegnosed very young

feeling like you're whole existence is under a microscope and then being told that they dont believe you because you're not a cis white man but if you go through education its easier as other people awnser more of the forums, however that also means if you mask arround them a lot you might have some issues getting the correct awnsers

I'm also around your age and afab, and I just got diagnosed. obv it's going to be different for everyone but for me I had 3 appointments. the first one I went in and talked to a neuropsychologist about what I was struggling with and my suspicions that I was autistic. next was testing, mostly testing things like intelligence but also observing how I interact socially and things like that. last appointment was meeting with the doctor again and he gave me the diagnosis and we talked about where we would go from there

They ask questions about your background and questionnaires and do some math and a few tests for me. I got diagnosed this year.

I got diagnosed as a small child. I was like 5 or 6. I couldn't really tell what they were trying to do. I mostly just got to play with toys from what I can remember. I can assume that as an adult there will be a lot more questions or something. just be honest and it can help you start in the right direction, even if autism isn't the answer for you
