Developing Asthma from GERD: Anyone Else?

Has anyone else developed asthma due to GERD? I’ve heard it’s common and think o developed it.

I have never heard of that but anything is possible. I am curious if this is something you actually feel in your lungs or if your breathing just feels restricted? GERD can cause your esophagus to swell from the constant burning which is fixable with the right treatment. I do suggest asking your doctor about the possibility of both.

It’s an interesting thought! I have had asthma for years but as my GERD got worse this year, so did my asthma. There is a subset of GERD called LPR and that can cause asthma-like symptoms!
