Struggling with Knee Pain: Seeking Advice from Arthritis Patients

Hello! So I have not been diagnosed with arthritis so forgive me if I sound completely uneducated about it. But I have had a struggle of cycles of my knees burning and aching, then it goes away and comes back. It’s getting to the point when either I need to be all the way down on the ground or need to be standing. I have tried to talk to my doctor who I feel not very listened to about it. But it isn’t all the time and this happens and get so bad. What do you people who have actually been diagnosed with this think?

I have reactive arthritis. Which means any time I get an infection, I have a flare up. This includes colds, acne, insect bites, scratches, any infection. It sucks. I inherited the HLA-B27 gene from my dad that makes me more susceptible to the spondyloarthritises. I use a cane and sometimes a rollator if the pain is bad enough. I’ve spent days either in bed or on the couch. I’m a mom of 2 young kids and only just about to turn 30, yet on those days I feel like I’m 70.

I understand and have a version of arthritis that is strep arthritis that forms after not being treated right away from strep throat. I’ve had it since 4 years old, just had blood testing done to confirm it.
