Could I be approaching menopause?

I've missed a period for nearly 4 months I know I need to miss it an entire year before I really have menopause. I started skipping periods at 36 im now 43. I've missed periods for 7 months just to spot for a few days and have to start counting over again. my moms got 1 year period free at 52. i haven't had cramps for months. could i be getting close?

I tend to get one a year, and it seems to happen only when I have some sort of malfunction in my system. I'm in my early 40s too, but I look really young. It's so embarrassing when I'm out and about, looking like a health hazardous teenage, pouring sweat like a faucet.

i had heat sweats since 36-39 itv stopped right before 40 so i understand one winter at 37 i was rearing a tshirt and jeans with snow boots and it was 33° out but i was hot and the "breeze" felt so good especially after being in the drs office where the heaters were on full blast. The people at the bus stop could not belive i didn't have long sleeves lets alone no jacket or gloves.
