Anxious about upcoming surgery

Right now I’m anxious and can’t sleep. I’m worried about my surgery coming up. Any advice??

I have had about 9 surgeries/procedures in my life this far. My favorite thing I learned, was one of my surgeons taught me. She said to envision me waking up post-op and everything going well. So now, when I'm anxious about certain situations I try to envision the best possible outcome b and that tends to help put my mind at ease. Kind of like a guided meditation.

, I take it even further, I try to plan something far enough out that I know I'll be feeling better by then. I'm having a second knee replacement on May 30th, so I'm working on thinking about my birthday on August 20th.

Warm shower, get as comfy as possible. Treat yourself however you can, maybe read up on peoples positive stories who have gotten that surgery. Also what helps me sometimes is the ‘military?’ Trick. Just picture in your mind (if you can) a white, blank screen/nothingness and redirect your mind back to it if it gets distracted
