just found out I have a fatty liver. I don't see that doctor until the 20th, and I'm really anxious about it. can anyone tell me their experience with this? what should I expect? idk why I'm so anxious right now over it lol

I am so proud you are going in and taking care of yourself. I have all sorts of major liver issues and religiously follow GI Doctors orders including meds, every 3 months blood work, 2 times a year full ultrasound, and so much more. Since I have been listening and doing what he says.... I feel SO much better. Yah, at times it really bites to do what is right but remembering how I crappy I will feel keeps me doing the right thing.

I take Vit E and omegas to help with mine. Maybe see if that is something your doctor suggests. Wishing you the best. My liver numbers with Fatty Liver have decreased significantly with a combination of exercise, eating better and the supplements. I am not overweight nor do I drink, I had none of the predispositions so it can happen to anyone. Good luck on your journey.

I was told that because there's no evidence of actual damage the fatty liver could be reduced or reversed in my case by weight loss.

I got diagnosed with this a few months ago. You'll likely have a fibroscan next (if you've already had an ultrasound) to understand the level of disease in your liver. I'm still waiting for mine (I'm in the UK so it's all slow!) but it all seems pretty low key so try not to worry :)

I agree with AlikeYou, it will be okay

I found out a few years ago. They normally check in blood test and apart from that I ought to lose weight. Because I don't drink the two I mentioned test and losing weight is all my doctor did or mentioned to me

@Overcomer I don't drink either so I suspect my experience will be similar! I hope so anyway lol

I’ve had it a few years. They just check my liver numbers every once in awhile. I feel like I should be doing more but because all my other health issues, it tends to go on the back burner. I remember how scary and confusing it was when I was diagnosed. Hang in there. You’re doing the right thing by talking to medical professionals! You’ll get some good advice and a game plan. It will be ok.
