Anxiety When Eating: Is It Just Me?

just cerious does anybody else get anxiety when eating to the point you stop eating what's on your plate then through the rest away. I don't know if it's bc I stoped eating and drinking anything in 3rd grade when I was little then forced to eat bc the doctors threatened to put a tube down my nose if I didn't eat that was a threat 3 times btw. or if it's an Autistic thing. or is it something else? I'm so confused.

Is it a textile discomfort? Just asking because I know that there are some things I literally cannot eat because of the texture. If that's the case I would recommend just finding a texture you can handle enough to get food in ya.

yeah some textures of foods I just can't stand so I try to avoid them as much as possible. But I get anxiety when I'm eating dinner after eating just 2-3 bites and get full but my mom usually is right across from me so I force myself to eat a little more that's when I start to get anxious.

I'd recommend looking into Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder, it's a more recently discovered eating disorder that isn't body image based, it's frequently seen in people with autism and obsessive compulsive disorder. It's caused by either sensory issues or some fear of the food you are eating or are supposed to eat.
