Dealing with Anxiety and Repetitive Questions in a Relationship

I feel so sad because my partner just told me it’s frustrating to him that I ask the same questions over and over when I’m anxious. I had to explain that I can’t control it and that I don’t even notice it half the time. I just wish it would all go away because I feel like I can never just relax and be happy.

I'm sorry you're going through this. Would you consider sharing some articles with them? I had a conflict with my husband and I asked him if he would read a couple of articles I shared. He did and I think it opened his eyes to WHY I had some of my behaviors. He was taking them personally, when really it's not something we are intentionally doing

I can't give you relationship advice because I don't know both of you personally but there is something that can help. When both of you are relaxed and happy and overall good mood. Talk to your partner but your anxiety and how it affects you and what goes on in our mind in the best way you can. See, people who don't have mental illnesses can't completely understand what we go through. Even if you have a physical illness or any difficulty whatsoever, other people just don't get it. This is because they don't have to deal with it. It's worse with mental illnesses because they don't see it. I've had anxiety my whole life as well as other mental issues. To everyone it just seems as if it's my personality and there is nothing wrong with me. So that's tip #1. Secondly if talking and explaining and essentially teaching your partner about it doesn't work then couples counseling might be a good option or having your doctor or counselor or whoever talk to your partner about it from a medical and professional point of view. It might be easier to understand from someone who specializes in it.
