Hi. I'm new to this app. I've been experiencing major anxiety recently. My doctors refuse to prescribe me medication and journaling isnt helping. Meditation helps, but I'm in need of other tools. Anyone able to share some ways to ease anxiety, especially when in crowds big or small? thx!

      If you are experiencing a lot of anxiety in crowds, I would remove myself from that situation. Big crowds make my anxiety higher then it normally is. I was recently diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder. So everything basically makes my anxiety happen. Right now my anxiety is through the roof. Makes my blood pressure high and makes everything hurt. Always on alert. But it is best to have a distraction if possible. I do crafts, drawings, fill-in puzzles, music, basically anything that will distract me! My doctor wants to put me on Prozac along with my current medication. Just not sure I want to go that route yet.

      I listen to this specific Native American Meditation Music track on YouTube. I also listen to a breathing tool. Even if I'm not actively participating the whole time, it does help. What is causing your anxiety? You may have an underlying cause which is causing it to flare up! Controlling that root cause may help a bit.

        @Nyx.Saighdiuir meditation does help, along with journaling for the every day anxiety, but there's so much going on, that I can't say it's one particular issue. My biggest issues would be finances, and health. Though, I'm not getting any help for my physical health either. The anxiety causes those ailments to increase in severity, then I'm basically homebound a few day's at a time.

      Ask if they will prescribe you Hydroxyzine. It is for allergies but it is also used to treat anxiety and it works within 30 minutes

        @Puddiebaby They've tried me on this, but it caused irritability. They also suggested I use benadryl.. that just gave me, what I call restless leg syndrome and irritability too.

      If you're in a state where it's legal marijuana edibles not smoking it cuz that makes lots of people paranoid

        @goobieboobie unfortunately it's not legal where I'm located. Do you know anything about cbd ointment/ sav and which brands are best?
