Dealing with Anxiety-Induced Insomnia: Seeking Advice

Can my anxiety be causing my insomnia? Has anyone had any luck with medications or natural remedies that have helped with both?

i was on trazodone for 4-5 years but haven’t been a few years (i’ve had insomnia since i was 5 and now i’m in my 20s) i’ve found melatonin really helps. i know i’m dependent on it but i was going to be dependent on something lol. it also really helps me to fall asleep with a podcast. it keeps my anxiety from going all over the place and my mind focused on something positive or just neutral. a good podcast to try is sleep with me

I'm prescribed trazodone 100mg, and that helps alot but I just smoke medical Marijuana. (Medical carts) to sleep.

I'd love to be able to smoke to sleep but unfortunately it's not legal where I live yet

Oh definitely. I have conversely not found melatonin to work, but my issues mostly stem from PTSD. I smoke a blunt, cuddle my cat and go to sleep, so routine is very helpful.

I also have PTSD! I tried weed but it makes me panic I used to be able to have a little bit in the beginning and then like a switch flipped and every form of weed makes me panic. I had a tiny bit of wax the other day and it actually helped me relax alittle wihich was very weird since that's supposed to be way stronger right

Yes!! My anxiety definitely worsens my insomnia or may be the cause. I have found higher dose melatonin gummies help me before sleep and a night ritual like a hot shower or brushing my teeth and washing my face and listening to sleep meditations or stories
