Dealing with Anxiety and Heart Palpitations

Hey there- I have been having extreme anxiety and lately been having heart palpitations that wake me up a few times a night or there is something else that wakes me up not sure. But it is to the point that sometimes when I try to go to bed I just hear and feel my heart pounding. I am not sure if it is my anxiety alone seeing other drs to rule out things. Super fed up trying so hard to feel better and not getting anywhere with the multiple conditions I have. Thanks all

Make sure to check with your doc that the prazosin isn’t causing chest flutters.

I’m going through the same thing. I have severe anxiety that has gotten worse with visits to the cardiologist and neurologist. I worry about my health and sometimes feel overwhelmed. My dr has upped my clonazepam. I’m waiting to see if it helps. I’m still waiting on blood work because I have had iron infusions in the past as well as low B12 needing shots. It’s weird not having anyone to talk to that truly understands where you’re coming from. Please feel free to message me 😊

This is the main reason I want to be a nurse. NOTHING is taken seriously anymore. It’s always chalked up to be because of your mental illness or weight issues. I’m tired of it. I get what you’re saying. No one takes any of my physical or even mental symptoms seriously. It’s exhausting feeling crappy in any way, shape, or form with no one to listen to you. I become hopeless after awhile… I’m sorry you’re dealing with this, and I’m sorry our medical system has failed you and has become like this..

Has anyone checked you for dysautonomia I went 6 years with them saying my high hr and stuff was all anxiety for there to be a genuine medical condition causing some of it.

get terrible heart palpitations as well when I have severe anxiety. It happens to me randomly throughout the day, and I do get woken up sometimes by them. They have decreased significantly with my Clonazepam. Do you take Vistaril daily or as an as needed medication? I was originally prescribed Vistaril by one doctor, but another doctor switched me to Clonazepam because it’s a daily medication. Have you done any blood work? I could go on and on about what it could be haha. I totally understand being fed up about trying your hardest to feel better but not getting anywhere. I don’t have many diagnoses, but I have so many symptoms. It’s like once I figure out one thing, something else happens. I’m no doctor, but if you need any additional advise or just a sounding board for your conditions, I have graduated from nursing school. :)

I get chest pains and my dr just told me it was my anxiety. I've been on medication for anxiety since last June and I still get all of the physical pain that comes with anxiety. I'm not sure if my chest pains are caused by this alone either and it's hard to get a dr to look into it. :( hopefully it gets better for you! ❤️
