Some people have had positive experiences with antidepressants, such as feeling more in control of their thoughts and having dark thoughts kept at bay. Others have experienced side effects or found that the medication didn't work for them. It's important to remember that everyone's experience is different, and finding the right medication may take time and adjustments.

It takes a while to get used but definitely worth it

@Vix26 really can I ask what you take, how long any side effects? I took lexapro for one night and it was the worst night

I had to try different ones and go through side effects as bad as suic. I finally found the one that works best for me which is actually lexapro. I’m off my meds rn and have been for about two weeks (not by choice) but yeah withdrawls are very bad and taking it one day but not the next will not be good.

@anotherlostsoul thank you for that. Wow you are strong. Are you just staying off of them now? Did you taper? I've heard if you don't withdraws are so bad. So the neds made you suicidal? These meds can be so crazy. Good job for not giving up.

@kay3 omg thank you sorry for the late response but yeah i ran out and so ive been forced off them completely for a couple weeks now. I had no opportunities to get more in the weeks that have gone by. Withdrawal are the worst and nobody around me understands that. I do need to get back on them. Honestly it what was helping save my life

I had to go through nearly every available ssri and antidepressant before i found one that actually works for me. Going on and off of them is ROUGH.

@kay3 And yes they have gene tests to tell you what antidepressants have less side effects. Its expensive though

I love Lexapro, it's fixed so many things for me. just taken the edge off of my anxiety and depression enough that all my other coping mechanisms actually help now.

@j_Bug so glad to hear. I only took it one day but side effects were so bad for only one night so I stopped
