Antidepressant Withdrawal: What Are Your Worst Symptoms?

What is the worst symptom of going cold turkey stop or forgetting to take a dose of your antidepressant? I literally feel like i can’t breathe and my diaphragm contracts. Also feel a major dark cloud over me and am in a really bad place literally hours after failing to take a regularly scheduled dose. Anyone else have similar symptoms?

Oh boy… several weeks ago I ran out of my Lexapro and was just barely hanging on. I developed severe nausea and hopelessness. However, I’ve been having some rough events in my life, which probably made my withdrawal worse. My depression was a 9 on the distress scale.

I experienced this on Paxil. If I forgot to take my pill in the morning, by the afternoon I had brain zaps and everything felt like it was spinning.

I definitely experienced total lack of concentration, anxiety, and brain zaps from stopping cold turkey

I've experienced this before I've learned my tongue will start tingling first before the rest of the symptoms happen.

Hi, what you're describing is indeed common when stopping an antidepressant at once, you should cut back slowly over a few weeks, to prevent rebound anxiety and depression. You shouldn't suffer like this!

When I forgot to take my antidepressants for a day I would spontaneously vomit and feel sick and depressed the entire day

When we forget, we start thinking the worse and fall extremely depressed (i.e. sewerslidal ideation)
