Always Tired Despite Sleep Apnea Diagnosis

I've seen a doctor's and nurse practitioner at a sleep neurology center after being diagnosed with sleep apnea, I'm still absolutely tired I sleep all night and wake up still tired I was on iron for a while as per the nurse practitioner directions but it wasn't helping, what should I do? I can't get anything done because I'm always exhausted.

yeah, i’d definitely suggest trying it again if you had a positive experience with it already! it’s technically an antidepressant but also used for insomnia so i think itd be a good solution.

@jdubz When I was last in the pyschward they made me take Trazodone because I wouldn't sleep I finally slept, maybe I should try that again. I sleep at night but maybe my brain doesn't shut all the way off?

i take trazodone to because i have insomnia and it really helps me fall asleep and stay asleep throughout the whole night. i also use a cpap for sleep apnea

amitriptyline is probably your best bet then. if you do take it, I think it says take it in the morning, I wouldn’t because the medicine knocks me out within 30-45 minutes

I'm supposed to take propranolol I'm just terrible about keeping up with it because it's twice a day

there’s also propranolol. i took that as well, I had to be taken off of it because it dropped my blood pressure too low with my other medications. so you can always look into that as well. although i still recommend amitriptyline :)

I take melatonin...of course it helps majority of people and not me completely. Warm bath with Epsom salt before bed. Warm tea..controlled breathing..stretching...no blue light at least an hr before bed....And like @alyssa_c said cpap machine will help.....I'm thinking of everything I've been told and tried...some worked..some didn't. It you try everything and nothing works then tell your doctor what you've tried and maybe he will figure something else to help...whether that be medicine or something else.

my doctor put my on amitriptyline, which had helped. I recommend taking it at nighttime tho, as it does make you extremely tired. I also use a cpap machine which does help
