Alters can show symptoms of conditions the body doesn't have, but they can't claim to have a neurodiversity or physical disability that the body does not have (however alters can have different personality disorders). Ex. An alter who can't hear well shouldn't claim to be deaf if the body isn't deaf, as it can feel like erasure from the hardships actual deaf people face. The deaf community also has an entire culture around it that the body would have no experience with (assuming they weren't a coda/friends with a deaf person) . It's better to say things along the lines of "this alter can't hear well when they front" rather than "this is alter is deaf"

Yes! Alters can show symptoms of disabilities that the body doesn't have. And when they front they will fall on a spectrum of whether or not they front with these symptoms. The body may even feel like its changing to mimic their symptoms. This is because did is a covert disorder and its easier for alters to not realize they're the only one if the body is as accurate to the alter as possible.

Not that I know of, but alters with extra limbs or non-humans often find themselves confused by the lack of limbs or other features they would have otherwise.

Kind of? I have a couple of headmates that are missing limbs inner world and that affects how they are in the body.

I sometimes feel my DID is a disability in many ways... It makes my daily tasks so complicated sometimes, but not in an actual physical way if that's what you meant. Can you relate?
