      Thank you skye I am not good with the mediation so I will look into somatic therapy and discuss it with my therapist

      Somatic therapy is to help you through trauma. It uses your nervous system to rewrite when you feel "safe" and how to "self-soothe." Most DBT places focused on meditation and other "still" activities. Somatic therapy focuses on grounding techniques that may be more or less movement based, with overlaps like deep breathing. It is more in tune with your body and how you're feeling. It doesn't focus on the "logical" side. It's more of an emotional/bodily response behavior modification.

      Skye what exactly is somatic therapy if you could please explain I have never heard of it.

      I use CBT, moreso than DBT. DBT is very hard to use for me, no matter how many times I "learn" it. The applications of it are much harder for me. My body doesn't seem to react right like a lot of others. I've also tried plenty of things that were suggested to me during DBT, and my brain simply didn't like what was suggested. I also use somatic therapy, which helps me a lot more.

      I have just recently started DBT but find it hard to comprehend sometimes. Anyone else feel this way?

      Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is the main thing besides medication. You can find specific therapists that do it!
