IOP worked great for me. a lot of people helping and seeing you all in succession as well as talk therapy and group therapy all wrapped into one thing. it’s basically like a full time job. go to a place for 8 hours and work with people and get intense help

There are many different types of therapy that are all designed to help in different ways. And all therapists are different so it's important that if your therapist isn't working for you, it's ok to find a new one because they just want to help. But you also can't expect them to make everything better right off the bat. Therapy takes time and usually it takes years, but it is always worth it. Really the most important thing that I can tell you is that you should always be open and honest with your therapist. They aren't there to judge and they can't help what they don't know. Therapy is different for everyone so it's important to share how you feel with your therapist so you can work out a treatment plan that's just right for you. Just don't be afraid to speak up if something isn't working.
