I’m on mirtazapine for my SAD and bipolar depression. It’s not an SSRI and doesn’t have any bad side effects that I’ve noticed, altho it’s best taken at night bc it does make you slightly drowsy and hungry, but that’s it.

Effexor has been the one medication that I have ever taken that I have found helpful. The doctor upped my dosage to help with my pain, because it’s also used for pain management. Pain specialist then added Cymbalta to help with you. Cymbalta and Effexor are in the same family. I found both to be helpful not just with my mental health but also other issues. Maybe try Cymbalta or adding it to the Effexor.

what dosage helped for you? I’m on it for pain management and bipolar- anxiety and depression but it’s been about 6 months and feel so much worse than when I started. Up to 187mg now. Waiting for the “simulating” effect but no luck so far.
