@Jrock I try to mentally prepare. But when it comes time. My body automatically starts reacting.. the closer the time comes..

There's a technique I like that uses a ladder. Basically you break it down into tiny steps and build up. So for example, if it was a fear of public transport, you'd put traveling 1 stop with a friend during quiet times. Then the next rung of the ladder would be 2 stops. Then maybe 1 stop without ur friend. Then 1 stop with friend at a busier time. And keep going till the top rung is ur goal. E.g. making it to college alone during peak hours. U have to chose what steps work for u and then keep repeating a rung until u feel comfortable at the level :)

@Nadia26 I had the same too part of my exposure therapy! 1. Go out of the house downstairs for 5mins. Extend to an hour when comfortable but sit through the discomfort if a panic attack comes on!! 2. Go to a nearby part for an hour, do the same 3. Go buy something at a cafe nearby the park etc 4. Go to the food court (this used to be one of my triggering spaces) stay there for a bit And eventually as I upped the power, I started to feel so confident on my own that I would just jump to libraries, shopping malls etc and just enjoy seeking out an adventure! 💕🤗 You can do it too! Don't give up

When I use to go through this and I would step outside my apartment to sit outside for a bit and read. Exposure to outside my apartment helped. Till I started doing little walks and pace back. Then to the local store. Kind of like tagging places "your it!" And until I started getting use to it again.

I'm still hmfighting this battle but I find knowing a week in advance gives me some time to mentally prepare
