do you wear AFO's? if so, how did you receive them? did you do it through insurance? can you do it without insurance? I've had the ones I wear now for 10 years or so and am super overdue for a new pair, but I don't have insurance.

I don’t wear my afos, even tho I should. I went thru hangar clinic and I went thru insurance. I had to pay $400 out of pocket.

I absolutely have to wear my AFOS. I almost physically can not walk without them. i'm sure they're different for everyone, but for me I needed insurance. It would've been $5,000 if my insurance didn't pay for it. I went to the hanger clinic for mine. I have a woman since I was a little child mold me for my braces and I haven't been molded by anyone after her. My brother has AFOS and chooses not to wear them most of the time and says he has them incase he is feeling weaker or in winter weather. Best of luck!!👍

When I needed to get a pair of AFOs to continue working (mine broke during a work shift), I went to a Goodwill community center and their programs assisted in fully paying for a pair to keep me working. They did have some things I had to do for the program but nothing crazy.

I wear AFOs every day! Through insurance I am eligible for replacement/new ones every 5 years. I have always used Hanger Prosthetics. They were previously named J.E. Hanger, after the company founder.

I'm guessing Hanger Prosthetics has a program for those without insurance but I have never asked them.
