Working up courage to be an active participant in my treatment and asking about trying different options. How do you advocate for yourself and needs?

I'm learning to write things down and email them to my allergist, and put them on notes for all other docs. That way if I'm not feeling confident, they'll see my list and address it.

I’m really trying to figure this out too, I wish I had any advice but I always go silent and can’t bring myself to say anything. I guess for me I just try to remember that my conditions are rare and I probably know more about them than the doctors might. It’s so hard to mentally handle it all!

when talking to your cardiologist, try to remain confident and take control of the appointment. make sure your needs are being met. if you have to write down what you want to say, do that! it’s hard to be confident at first but this is your body and what you needed. get a patient advocate if needed or a friend or someone you trust with you.
