I have schizoeffective, and anxiety. I was put on Vistaril for my anxiety and it has really helped me with my insomnia. The only problem is I can't take it the day before I have to get up early. Part of having ADHD, which I also have, is being able to use caffeine as something to relax you and make you sleepy. But if you do not have ADHD, I do not recommend using caffeine

well surprisingly caffeine makes me more tired but it seems like no matter how hard I try to sleep it just doesn't happen

My therapist recommended tart cherry juice for my insomnia. Just be careful with how much you have. I definitely wouldn't do a full eight ounces. It really messed my stomach up (but it did help me sleep). But my sister has been taking it every night and she's been fine. She only takes an ounce or two.
