Seeking Advice on Non-Attentive ADD

I'm new to the app, looking for some advice on consulting with my psychiatrist about possible non attentive add.

I was diagnosed by my primary care doctor after my therapist said that I definitely show symptoms of ADHD. My doctor had me fill out a questionnaire, and I scored high enough to get diagnosed. That was it. I had to wait a bit before I could get medication because of some blood pressure concerns, but that was really the only issue I ran into.

The neuropsychologist had me take a bunch of tests - some written, some answering questions verbally, some on computer to test my attention span. He said the tests showed that although I had high intelligence, sometimes my brain would randomly “blip” and I would make a mistake LOL. There were enough blips that he said it was an attention deficit problem. I did well on medication (Vyvanse I think?) but ended up having to discontinue it due to high blood pressure problems. So now I just deal with the blips the best I can.

But my son was diagnosed by his primary, so you might be able to get a diagnosis without finding a specialist.

Hi! I’m new here too. I went to a neuropsychologist for testing.

🤗 Awesome! Did you go to a psychiatrist? Or primary. I live in a rural area with new insurance, I've been struggling to find a psychiatrist.
