I'm a trans man with PCOS. looking for advice from other tans men with pcos of anyone knowledgeable. I want to start my medical transition, and I've planned to go to a clinic by me the second I can, but for now, this is the best I have. If you've medically transitioned, what are some differences with taking hormones that other trans men w/o pcos would have to deal with?

Non-binary/gender fluid myself and considering starting T. Haven't yet though, so just here for solidarity. I just had a consultation on Monday about what starting T might look like for me. My doc said while there's not enough info on PCOS , it's generally believed higher androgens are part of the cause, so basically taking T shouldn't really affect any of my PCOS symptoms in either direction. Hope you find answers.

"PCOS is a condition that may complicate hormone treatment for transgender individuals. However, there are many accounts of trans people with PCOS safely and successfully getting hormone treatment. If you want to pursue hormone treatment, your doctor will be able to help you navigate whatever complications may arise. Some trans individuals with PCOS have used Metformin to control their PCOS which regulates the sugar rather than using birth control (which would raise estrogen). It's also recommended to find an LGBTQ friendly doctor, who has experience with non-binary patients."
