Looking for advice on ADHD testing

Hi - I took a questionnaire about ADHD and I was on the cusp. I’m in the process of switching doctors so trying to learn more about this. Has anyone done any good testing for ADHD? It’s hard to say whether my symptoms are 20 years of depression or this.

Can you help? connect today

Hi! I did a neuropsych eval and really liked it! I was already diagnosed with ADHD at the time (and depression) but it helped particularly with the ADHD in understanding how my brain had changed since I was diagnosed as a kid, and even the accommodations I could receive at work/school. Hope that helps!

My regular doctor just tested me for ADD - I was diagnosed with it in my early 40's by a questionnaire and on Addreall, which worked wonders, for 15 years. I wanted this new test to see if I really have it. The test showed that I was hyperaware and it was suggested that I TRY to slow down and focus. Lol. I wish I knew how.

that’s what I’m curious about. My psych made it seem like there was a special test I had to seek out.

From the research I been doing, if you have ADHD you have always had it. As a kid you can get treated for it and you can be able to grow out of it, I guess I can say. But if you don't get treated as a kid you'll most likely still have it going into adulthood, which means you won't be able to grow out of it and you'll have to manage it w medication and/or therapy. Lots of ppl with ADHD don't notice the symptoms until adulthood cuz they get worse as they get older as well. So that may be why you notice it now and never noticed it before, if you do have ADHD.
