is it worth it to get diagnosed with adhd and get medication for it? I've known for a long time that I wasn't normal and I have several symptoms of adhd but it isn't really affecting me living a normal life right now. I just wonder if it would really be worth it to get an official diagnosis and get on meds or if the meds will make me a zombie or have no personality.

It changed my life! For me it completely reversed the things you mention - I felt more alive and like myself than I had in years! So I say at least try if you’re intrigued bc there’s no reason you’d be forced to continue with it if for any reason you didn’t want to!

It really depends on the medication. I listed Ritalin as one of my meds, but the truth is I self medicate

And especially since you have depression it could help a lot to get some sort of meds that could treat both. I have depression too and it's difficult to get stuff done when you're busy feeling like you can't do anything because your brain is telling you not to

I highly recommend it. I don't have it as severe as my husband but I still been prescribed Ritalin and it helps a TON, I took two doses today (I can take three in one day) and i got SO much more done than I would have if I hadn't

atomoxetine is a non stimulant medication that worked well for me for a while Therapy may be helpful if you are not already in it & you are able to. They can connect you to more resources
